HAVE YOUR BOOKED a team spot yet for the Library’s annual Summer Quiz. The theme for this year’s quiz is ‘Growing Up in the 1950s’, so if you spent some of your childhood in the 50s then this is for you.
The questions have been set, as usual, by Ken Sheldon and it all takes place on Tuesday, August 22 with a 1.30pm for 2pm start.
There will be a bar from 1.30pm onwards – sadly, not at 1950s prices! – and again during the interval, when tapas will be served at a cost of €5 per head. A bargain for an afternoon’s entertainment.
Ideally, you should have a team of six but don’t worry if you can’t make up a full team because we can always fit you in with others in a similar situation.
As an added incentive there will be prizes for the winners.
The challenge is on to beat the Fishermen’s Friends, last year’s winning team.
In the meantime, there are few better, more relaxing ways to spend a Wednesday or Saturday morning than by taking coffee in the Library Gardens between the hours of 10am and 1pm. Bring your friends along, the more the merrier. Visitors and non-members are always welcome.
