BRIAN ARNOLD has stepped down as Library President after holding the position for the last six years. Our thanks and best wishes go to Brian and his wife Linda.
At the Library AGM there was a warm welcome for incoming President Tony Colmans. Three new members have joined the committee, Niki Nicholson, Graham Taylor and Brian Scott.
There was a full house at the Library when over 70 members and guests enjoyed an interesting talk entitled Anecdotes from a Diplomat’s Wife by Margaret Ward. The sun shone and members and guests enjoyed the buffet and refreshments in the garden.
Tickets are now on sale for a raffle in aid of our Volunteers Lunch. The prizes are on display in reception. Please help us take our 40-plus volunteers out for a well-deserved meal. Without the dedication and hard work of our team of volunteers the Library could not function.
There was another full house for the talk by retired hotelier Ramón Michán on Puerto de la Cruz: Birthplace of Tourism in Spain, which was well received. The weather was kind and members were able to enjoy the buffet and refreshments in the gardens afterwards.
Next up on the Library calendar is the event of the year, our Annual Pig Roast. It all takes place on Saturday, March 10th, with a 1.30 for 2pm start.
The menu includes succulent pork, Canarian potatoes and various salads, all for €15 euros, including drinks. Book and pay at the Treasurer’s Desk.
The Library welcomes visitors during opening hours, Monday and Friday 3pm to 5.30pm and Wednesday and Saturday 10pm to 1pm. Refreshments are served in the garden on Wednesday and Saturday mornings.
