NEW YEAR SOCIAL ACTIVITIES for Library members begin with another of our popular Ladies Who Lunch events on Thursday, January 11. The venue is the Petit Los Angeles restaurant in Puerto, with a 1pm for 1.30pm start
On offer is a three-course meal, including wine, for €16. As ever, book your place at the Treasurer’s desk.
A week later – on Thursday, January 18 – there’s another in our popular series of talks, this time the topic being Anecdotes from a Diplomat’s Wife. It will be followed by a buffet with refreshments. It starts at 12 noon. Admission is €8 and, again, please book at the Treasurer’s desk.
The next Film Club showing is one not to be missed – Dunkirk on Thursday, January 25 with a 1.30 for 2pm start.
Christopher Nolan directs a host of stars in depicting the evacuation of British troops in World War Two, telling the story from the perspective of land, sea and air. Some critics have described it as the greatest-ever war film.
This is sure to be a popular film, so to reserve your seat please leave your name at the Treasurer’s Desk. Film Club admission is free but strictly for members only. Refreshments and ice creams available during the intermission.
The LIbrary welcomes visitors during opening hours, Monday and Friday 3pm to 5.30 pm and Wednesday and Saturday 10am to 1pm. Refreshments are served in the garden on Wednesday and Saturday mornings.
