WITH MOST SWALLOWS having now returned home, the Library committee is now busily working on a programme of activities and events for the summer.
First up is a Ladies Lunch at the popular Algarrobo Restaurant in La Paz on Thursday, May 11, with a 1pm for 1.30pm start.
The three-course meal, including wine, is priced at €15 per person. As usual, book your place at the Treasurer’s Desk.
Also in the pipeline is our ever-popular Summer Quiz, but more on that nearer the date.
When visiting the library, please take a look at our section of biographies, where you will find tales of people from all walks of life, from celebrities to sports personalities, film stars old and new, presidents, politicians, the list is endless.
You may find a few dubious characters – we’re not referring to the politicians of course. There are historical figures, many of whom have helped shape the world we know today.
There are some informative and fascinating reads in this section of the library You are almost certain to find someone from the past or present to interest you.
Visitors are always welcome to join us during opening hours (Mondays and Fridays 3pm to 5.30pm, Wednesdays and Saturdays 10pm to 1pm). Refreshments are served in the garden on Wednesday and Saturday mornings.
